Energy Efficiency and Climate Change
Energy efficiency is one of the strategic pillars of sustainability at SLC. The company has developed its sustainability strategy by committing to
find effective solutions that reduce the direct impact of its operations on the environment, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse
gas (GHG) emissions.
Emission Reduction Target
SLC is committed to reducing emissions, with a short-term goal to:
- Reduce absolute emissions by up to 50% by 2035, from a base year of 2025*.
- Reduce scope emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities and upstream transportation and distribution by 30% per tonne-kilometer over the same period.
The target boundary includes land-related emissions and bioenergy removals.
In this way, SLC advances its decarbonization strategy and aligns its operations with the global goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5°C.
Simultaneously, it reinforces its role as an active participant in adopting sustainable practices and contributing to mitigating climate change globally.
